WIP, Book & Diamond Painting Update

 Hello!!!

Finished a book the other day and started another one. The one I finished was:

it was pretty good ... this is book #21 that I have read this year (so far). The book I am listening to now is "The Woman in Cabin 10" by Ruth Ware.

As for stitching ... I haven't stitched in a few days because we have been camping & it isn't always easy to stitch while camping but I still bring it with me just in case I can stitch. The last time I did stitch I did make some decent progress:

I have been diamond painting more than stitching lately. I have decided to diamond paint some christmas cards this year so I have started working on those. I do plan to work some stitching in while diamond painting though ... going to try and split my time between both hobbies to keep making progress on both.

As I mentioned above I am going to diamond paint my Christmas cards this year. I bought 24 cards ... that's all I am sending out this year. It is time consuming but enjoyable. Here is the first card I have finished (I have 12 designs and 2 of each design) ... so I have 2 cards complete so far & they are the same design.

The diamond painting I was working on before starting the Christmas cards is called "Spring Gnomes" (I don't know if that it's official name because there isn't a name on the label just numbers - so I named it myself LOL) ... and it looks like this:

Christmas Eve by Cottage Garden Samplings is coming along nicely! I feel like I will be working on this one until it is finished. I haven't had any desire to change WIPs so I will just keep plugging away at it!

I have started a new hobby this past week ... Diamond Painting! I have been stitching in the morning & then I Diamond Paint in the evening ... all while listening to my book. My first Diamond Painting project was a Sun Catcher that I am going to keep in the camper and hang out with my color changing light.

I started my next Diamond Painting last night (6/22/23). I don't know if it has an official name because the sticker just has a bar code on it so I am calling it "Spring Gnomes". Here is a picture of what it will look like completed:

WIP Progress, Father's Day & Reading update

 Hello ....

Happy Belated Father's Day to all the Dad's out there! I want to wish a special Happy Father's Day to my Dad (Bob Davis), to my hubby (Mark Meade) & to my son (CJ Meade) ~ who is celebrating his 1st Father's Day this year! We celebrated these special guys with a homemade dinner of Prime Rib & Broccoli Cheddar Rice and homemade Strawberry Shortcake for dessert using fresh strawberries that my Mom & I picked earlier this week with presents after that! 

Stitching has been cruising right along nicely ... I feel like I have made some great progress on Christmas Eve by Cottage Garden Samplings ...

As I stated in an earlier blog post ... I am really hoping to push thru on this WIP and turn it into a finish!

On a different topic ...

My Mom and I try to go strawberry picking every year. It is something that we have done together for a long time ... I remember when I was growing up going with my Mom AND my Grandma to pick strawberries & raspberries and then when we were done we would go back to my Grandma's condo and go swimming.  Anyways, my Mom & I went yesterday and picked strawberries to make homemade strawberry jam this weekend.

 

Christmas Eve WIP Progress & Bday Wishes! & Reading Progress

 Good Morning!

I want to wish Remy a HAPPY 5th BIRTHDAY! She is such a sweet girl with alot of character inside that little brown 70 lb body of hers LOL! If my Papa were still alive they would be sharing a birthday - my Papa would have been 100 years old today. Mark & I believe that my Papa and Natala (our previous Chocolate Lab Mix) sent Remy to us.

I am still stitching on Christmas Eve pattern by Cottage Garden Samplings. I was up early this morning, so I decided to get out of bed and do some stitching. Happy with my progress ... I plan to do some more stitching tonight.

Last year I had a goal to read 50 books within the year ... I met my goal! This year I am just reading to read ... no goal. So for I have read 17 books this year. I listen to audiobooks - but consider this reading - so that I can "read" while at work, in the car & while stitching. The book I just started today is:

 

Progress on a WIP & 1st Camping Trip of 2023

Happy Monday! 

We did our 1st camping trip of 2023 last week at a campground called Steamboat Park Campground. It is only 7 miles from where we live but we were still camping & were able to commute to work. It was also the 1st time camping in our new camper & we LOVE it! We weren't right on the Grand River but we were on a camp site right across the street from the river & had a great view. We would go back there & camp again for sure! Mark did some fishing ... didn't catch anything but relaxed & enjoyed his quiet time ... which is what camping is all about isn't it?! Remy loves camping because she gets to go on TONS of walks LOL! Our next camping trip will be the week of June 25-July 1st at a KOA not far from our work so we can commute again.

I have also made some more progress on my Christmas Eve by Cottage Garden Samplings WIP. I am thinking about pushing through on this WIP and maybe getting a finish!

I am using some Sulky Floss in this WIP and I a not sure that I like the Sulky Floss. I will use it on this pattern to finish it out, but I am considering selling the Sulky Floss that I have. I do have other WIPs that have some Sulky Floss in them too so I will have to decide if I want to keep the Sulky Floss in those WIPs until they are finished or change out the Sulky Floss in those WIPs with the DMC conversion.

 

 

Progress on Christmas Eve WIP

 Good Afternoon!! 

I have made some progress on Christmas Eve by Cottage Garden Samplings!

I was able to get in 303 stitches last night! (I try to stitch at least a little bit every night because EVERY stitch counts).

 Stitching the white & grey is a little tedious but worth it in the end. You really can't even tell there is a design within the white & grey part while you are stitching it .... but when you look at it in a picture you can see the design come out.
